David Hurwith
David Hurwith helps people experience their body moving without pain.
For 50 years, he has been researching the body’s natural expression and function. He meets each client where they are, offering gentle pathways of movement that nourish their physical body, psyche, and creative process.
Now in his 7th decade, David has a vast history of experience that informs his current practice. As a teacher, David taught embodied anatomy at The University of California, Santa Barbara, The California Institute of the Arts, Movement Research, NYC, and SNDO Amsterdam. He is a dedicated researcher of healing methods and continues to study to this day. He is an accredited practitioner of Body-Mind Centering® and has immersed himself in the anatomical studies of Alexander Technique, Visceral Manipulation, and Zero Balancing.
David is acknowledged as a master facilitator of Authentic Movement. He has led numerous Authentic Movement workshops in New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, and at the Institut für Transpersonale Psychologie und Kreative Kunsttherapie in Bern, Switzerland. He was involved in Experimental Dance and Theater from the early 80s and has choreographed and performed around the world.
